The problem

The Dalmeny is a family owned hotel is situated on the sea front, close to St Annes Pier and within easy walking distance of the towns many shops. The hotel's owners wanted to save money on energy bills through an upgrade to modern, efficient LED lighting. The key challenge was to ensure that the upgrade was carried out without any disruption to trading or compromising of guest comfort.

Our solution

We carried out a complete lighting audit of the 126 bedroom Dalmeny Hotel. Recommended measures included replacing magnetic ballast product with high frequency and halogen lamps with LED technology. The Dalmeny Hotel took advantage of the Carbon Trust Loans Scheme and effectively replaced all the lamps using the savings made to the cost of their energy bills. Our lighting installation team carried out the project to enable a quick turn around and minimal disruption to the hotel's guests.

What was the outcome?

Energy savings overall the energy savings are over £24,000 per year.
